This piece features two Rufus Porter murals. The section in the right third of the design is part of a mural painted by Porter, circa 1825-1830, found in the Daniel Carr house in North Haverhill, New Hampshire. The left two-thirds of the design is part of one of his murals, circa 1838, found in the Andrew house in West Boxford, Massachusetts. This mantle board measures 29 1/2" x 3" x 7 1/4". Predominant colors are green, white, blue, red, gold. |
